There are tons of awesome surf videos out there, but this one captured something that has been a ton and made it look different. Awesome camera angles and a happy go lucky editing style made this piece really enjoyable.

Adobe has announced that they are going to be producing hardware for mobile devices. See Adobe’s VP of Product Experience, Michael Gough walk through the features of the Pen Stylus and Ruler.

Listen to Director/Editor Jeremy Grant and DP Brad MacGregor discuss the challenges that they faced while producing one of the best bike movies of all time. I have a ton of respect for these guys because they are pushing the limits of filmmaking by trying to take all of the best equipment into the most remote locations.

This is a great new product announced by Kessler Crane and it is going to help a ton of filmmakers out there. I own a bunch of Kessler stuff and it has been awesome, as it is not too expensive and it can really take a beating. Parallax will be great for people who have already invested in a CineSlider, as this add-on is fairly priced and can add a lot of value to a production.

Such an awesome piece! The way it was shot made me feel like I was there. Anytime I watch something and my immediate reaction right after is “I wanna go do that”, it is safe to say the filmmaker did an amazing job.

Great piece from ESPN about QB JaMarcus Russell. I love the graphics and titling in this piece as well as the way the interviews were shot.

I stumbled across this ad campaign by Prada a while back. I love the different types of music used for each model and the transitions used between them. The cinematography and editing are perfect because they don’t distract the viewer from what is going on in each scene.

Earlier this year the Vancouver-based lifestyle brand Voleurz closed up shop for good. When I first got into moving images I started as an intern with Voleurz. I was able to learn so much, make too many friends & contacts to count and have a darn good time doing it. I owe everyone involved with Voleurz so much, because without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. Last week, I was in Whistler for the World Ski and Snowboard festival to shoot a project for Red Bull. In my spare time I was able to do a bit of shooting for the last Voleurz video of all time, Resurrection. Please take some time to watch this, you will laugh and it will be worth it.

Rode announced that they will be releasing a very powerful and useful tool for filmmakers. SmartLAV will make recording great audio on an iPhone a reality. The video explains how the system will work, I have already pre-ordered one and you should too, this thing is going to come in handy on almost every shoot.

I found this a while back and forgot to post it, so here it is. Teradek’s Brik is an awesome solution for any camera that use V-Lock batteries, such as the Red Epic and Scarlet. The Brik allows you to record R3D Raw to the SSD while it records a proxy version of the file in H.264 format up to 1080p to the SD card located in the Brik. This device also allows you to setup a wireless network that can enable the use of an iPad for remote monitoring. Teradek also has an iPad app that can be very useful for on set applications, check it out here.
